"So, how are you, Jake?" She asked him, sitting on the edge of his bed.

He yelped, taking a staggering step back. "That was mean." He melodramatically limped across the room to lean against his dresser. "Yeah, dude. How's things been?"

"Fine and dandy," Jacob answered, swinging his legs over the side of the bed and scooting next to Kara. "I'm getting better."

Brayden cracked his knuckles--a bad habit he'd picked up from his dad when he was a little kid.
"So you're almost healed?' He persisted.

"Pretty much," Jake said, making an ettempt to get off the bed. He wobbled a little and walked out into the kitchen, getting a glass of water.

Brayden raised his eyebrows skeptically. "We could have done that for you, Jake," He called after him. Brayden instantly took his spot next to Kara on the bed. "He doesn't look much better," He mumbled

"He's probably trying not to make us worry," Kara replied, looking back at Jake in the kitchen.
"I can get my own glass of water," He told us when he walked back in the room, taking a quick sip and setting it on the bedside table. He shoved Brayden off the bed and took his spot back.
Kara tried not to laugh.

Tumbling to the floor, Brayden squealed in a high-pitched voice. "Y'all are so mean to me!" He said with bated breath.

Kara laughed, helping Brayden back up. "That was mean, Jake," Kara said, wagging her finger in his face. "We shun mean people."

Brayden nodded in agreement, "Excuse me while I go cut myself." He skipped into the kitchen, stealing a cookie from the jar, drawing an impolite look from Billy.

Kara quickly placed a silly hat on her and Jake's head. She put up a sign that said, "Silly hats ONLY!"
When Brayden walked back in, Jake and Kara were ready for him with baseball bats.

After they had had lots of fun smacking Brayden in the head with their bats, [xDD] Kara and Jake began to play patty-cake.

Brayden bit down on one cookie, holding it in his mouth when he crossed the doorframe into Jacob's room. He struck a seductive pose, waggling his eyebrows.

Jake threw the rest of his cookie at Brayden. "Stop trying to be sexy, Brayden."
