LA PUSH RESERVATION

"No one told me it was a race!" Brayden shook out his hair, spraying everyone within a 10 foot radius.

The tiny drops of freezing water hit Kara's back. She piped out a little scream and reached down to splash Brayden a little.

"Hey!" He said, gathering her wrists behind her back to keep her from splashing him.
Embry cleared his throat, his arms crossed across his chest about a yard away.

Kara struggled to free herself.
"Let's do it again!" She said, twisting her wrists out of his grasp and pulling him back up the hill to the edge of the cliff.

Embry rolled his eyes, "Be safe." He mumbled. Brayden reached down and threw a rock at the back of his head, not able to see if it hit him or not because he was being towed.

Kara snuck up behind Embry and gave him a quick shove.
"Later, Embry," Kara said, waving at him as he fell down into the cold water below.

Brayden laughed, waving after him as he screamed foul language at them.

Kara laughed and jumped, curling into a ball.
"Cannonball!" She yelled, falling into the water like a rock.

Brayden hesitated, but went in after her, the water curling around him. His head popped up above water. "Oh no," He grumbled. "Sam's coming to ruin our party." He looked up at the insanely tall figure at the top of the cliff.

"Aaaahh..." Kara screamed, slowly falling back into the water.

"Kara, come in here!" Genevieve hissed.

"Coming," Kara said, jogging over to Gen.

"Help." she whispered lifelessly. "A vampire attacked me- and Ben too."

"C'mon, Gen," Kara said, pulling her faster towards the Blacks' little house by the cliff.

"Thank goodness. I wanna see Jake." I sighed, heart pounding.

"I wanna see Jake too," Brayden complained wistfully, a mocking lace edging his words. He was soaking wet and still was lacking shirt.

"Okay. You can come with us." Gen croaked weakly.

"How's he doing?" Brayden asked, trying to force himself to sound sincere and concerned..

"I don't know." Gen admitted. "I haven't seen him in almost a week." she bit her lip.

"Do you need anything?" I asked Gen.
How stupid of the others to forget that she was hurt.
