"Dr. Cullen," Brayden said, his eyes guarded and perturbed. "How did you stand it?" He asked, his eyes making a transition from safeguarded to semi-awed.

"They leave me alone. Dr. Cullen, " Gen rolled her eyes, "is actually nice. The others acted like bitches around me."

"He's a doctor," He said flatly. "He's supposed to be nice."

"Yeah, but we talked. You know. And I don't feel as biased into hating them, I mean, he's okay."

"I don't know," Brayden said with skeptically raised eyebrows. "Care to explain?"

"He talked often. And he didn't rub it in my face saying "oh we're good vampires! trust us" but more I don't know...I guess I can trust him. I can just tell he's not faking when he talks to me..."

"And you trust him?" Brayden clarified, his raised brows furrowing.

"Get away from my man!" Kara yelled, tackling Genevieve to the ground. She pulled her hair and chewed off her head. "You... you bitch!"

Brayden had been phased for about an hour now, listening to the jumbled thoughts of those around him, making snide comments when necessary.
What about Jake? Sam thought, and through his eyes, Brayden saw the crashing sea. He was sitting on the cliffs.
He looked fine, but Emily said that he wasn't getting much better Brayden chimed in, realizing that it was just a few of them there.

Kara sat on the ground, resting her head in her paws. He seemed the same, but he was definitely not getting better. She licked her paw and stood up. So, why are we all here?

I don't know Brayden thought, walking on the line and staring out into the woods.
"Aye carumba!"
Brayden's head shot up, the dark-haired vampire leaning against a tree, her tall, lean stature seemed out of place with the bands of muscle that was wrapped around her upper arms. She was twirling something in her hand and she tossed it on the ground. Brayden stared, his head screaming for help.
"A peace offering," She smirked. He broke eye contact and looked at the object. He tightened. A rawhide. Before he could lunge, she had him pinned to the ground, trying to bite his neck. He pushed her off, quickly pouncing on her like a cat would a mouse. She wrapped her hands around his jaw and tried to push him away. It was her delicate looking hands that were the only thing that kept his furiously snapping teeth from tearing her apart. Her strength was surprising and Brayden was maybe the slightest bit stronger. He leaned into his attack, and the vampire let loose a high-pitched shriek when she realized that he had the advantage.

I rammed right into the large beast, sending it flying into a tree. I helped Nicolette up, and stared at the werewolf.

Kara snuck up behind the boy, waiting silently behind him in case she managed to get by Brayden. She leaned forward, prepared to strike.

Brayden braced himself, the tree buckling under the force of the impact. Whimpering, he got to his feet and crouched low to the ground, his eyes dialing in on the new vampire. He lunged, snapping wildly to force the vampires back into each other, hoping help would come soon

Genevieve and Leah stopped their mind conversation, Gen attacking the vampire with baring teeth while Leah howled a distraction. The bloodsucker wasn't the one that hurt Gen's leg, but most likely might have been the one who attacked Brayden and Kara.

As the werewolf jumped, I grabbed his body and squeezed. I heard his ribs crack, and I dropped him to the ground.

I grabbed Nicolette's hand, and said "Let's go."

Brayden whined and howled weakly as the vampires fled hand in hand. He tried to pull himself to his feet, but the white hot pain had spread from his knee chest to his neck and intruded in on his head, making it ache with every pulse of his heart. He clawed uselessly at the dirt with his fore paws, trying to get a response from his upper body. He cringed with each breath.

I ran through the woods, not letting go of her hand.
"Where do we go?" I asked, unsure of what had just happened.

Nicolette rubbed her thumb in circles on the back of his hand. "Away. Somewhere dark and isolated," She suggested offhandedly with a giggle. She pulled away her hand, turning on her heels. "We're not safe here."

"What do you know, Nathaniel?" She furrowed her brow with irritation. "Do you even know what you crushed back there?"
