THE SMALL TOWN OF FORKS

Subject: THE SMALL TOWN OF FORKS June 14th 2008, 8:54 pm

Welcome to Forks, Washington.
This small no-business town may not appear how dangerous it really is.
Over the past couple years, with the somewhat exciting arrival of Isabella Marie Swan, Chief Charlie Swan's son, Forks seemed to be a danger magnet.
Three unknown nomad vampires were on the loose- one substantually killed by Edward Cullen, Bella's loving boyfriend, or should I say fiance. Over two years, all three nomad vampires were killed- Victoria being the last, deranged in revenge to kill Bella for what her boyfriend did to James.
A pack of newborn vampires have came here- but defeated by the Quileute werewolves.
The Cullens have been interesting to all the weak humans in Forks because of their magnificent beauty, or so they say.

I drove to around town in Alice's new yellow Porshe. She was much more trusting than Edward, who wouldn't let me near his precious Volvo.
Alice was in the passenger seat, headbanging to a song playing on the radio. I laughed and went faster, zooming down the road.

"Carlisle's still at the hospital, Claire. Are you sure you don't want anything?" he asked, drumming his fingernails against the wooden table.
"I could use some hunting. I'm glad Bella didn't come over yet." I flashed my coal black eyes.
"Oh, right." He stood up. "Let me contact Alice." He flipped open his silver cell phone.

All of a sudden, the same song that was on the radio began to play again-- While the radio was playing too. I was confused, until Alice pulled out her cell phone.
She flipped it open, and the overlapping song stopped.
That must be her favorite song. I guessed. I'll have to remember that.
"Alice speaking." She said into the phone.

"Sounds like a good idea." Alice answered in her chime-like voice. "Are you thirsty, Bri?" She asked, staring at my eyes. They were a deep shade of gold, but you could see tints of black in them.
"I'm getting a bit thirsty, actually. Not that much, but It'd be good to go hunting early. Doesn't matter to me."

"Then its set. Can you come home? Or do you want us to meet you at the camping site?" He asked in his velvety voice.

I smiled at the thought of going hunting with the Cullens. I lived alone in an apartment in Port Angeles, so I wasn't used to going hunting alone. Especially since they were like family to me.
"Let's go Alice!" I told her. "We'll meet you at the camping site, Edward." I said a little louder into the phone.

"Alright." He hung up, grinning at me. "Lets drive, Claire!"
"Are we meeting Bella afterwards?" I swallowed, shaking with thirst.
"It's likely." He shrugged, and put his phone away.

Alice flipped her phone shut, and motioned for me to go faster. I turned around and followed her directions toward their hunting grounds.

Edward drove at a slow speed of 80. I sighed. "Can't you drive any faster?" I teased, giggling.
He grinned. "I could try." Pressing his foot against the pedal, he accelerated to 120.

"Ick." I said, suddenly, wrinkling my nose.
"What's wrong?" Alice asked me.
"I smell...werewolf.. Coming this way..." I looked around, keeping my hands grasped tightly around the wheel.
"Don't worry. We have a treaty. It's probably just the Blacks out of the reservation or something."
I shrugged, still looking around a little. We crossed the Quileute Reservation. Jasper had told me about the treaty, how we're not allowed to cross the line. I gave up and kept my eyes on the road. But I saw something out of the corner of it, seeing a bunch of big guys and three girls. The big guys were carrying some other big guy. He looked unconcious.
"Oh, Alice! Let's help them." I pulled over to the road where they were.

Edward muttered. "Alice, please don't help that...dog. He's alright."
"What dog?" I frowned.
"The Blacks. And his absurd werewolf pack." Edward grimaced. "Bella's best friends with Jacob Black, of course Bella always decides to befriend a werewolf."
"Oh." I wrinkled my nose already at the thought of werewolves.

"But..one looks like, half dead! And that girl's limping." I whimpered, pressing my palms against the smooth glass window. "Can't we help them?"
Alice looked at me, and then out the window at the hurt kids. "Fine. We'll take them to Carlisle."
I squealed and pulled over. "You guys need some help?" I asked, glancing at the half-inconcious boy. He had long, shaggy black hair that reached his shoulders. He was pretty hot.
"Uh, yeah." A girl with wavy blond hair replied, helping the limping girl.

"And of course they do help him." He muttered, speeding to where Alice and Brianne was.
"Jacob." he grimaced in response. Edward had a right to be jealous. This Jacob was almost as beautiful as Edward himself.
"Ay. I got bitten by one of your kind." He winced, showing the smooth white crescent. "Gen got hurt too. Help, please, bl- Edward."

"Not at all." He responded smoothly. "What happened to Jacob and the girl?" He gestured his white chin towards them.

I smiled at Edward, grateful. "Jake's been bit by the vampire, and Gen's leg is hurt." I explained to him. His expression didn't change.
"Let's take them to Carlisle." He responded, in a velvety voice. "He can help them." He strolled over to his fancy car, and opened the back door. I helped Genevieve get in, and Embry helped Jake in.

I rolled down the window for some air.
We pulled into the driveway faster than I thought. But I wasn't that surprised, because of the rate that Edward was driving.
"Dad!" Alice sang up the stairs. "We've got a problem."

Kara and Embry reluctantly helped Jake off the small bench in their front hallway.
"Can you help him?" Kara asked Carlisle, chewing her finger nails down to stubs.

He frowned. "It's possible...he might have lost too much blood. I suggest you all go away while I attempt to get the blood out of him..."

Kara and Leah wouldn't move from their spot, feet glued to the glossy hardwood floors. Embry walked over and pulled them toward the door.
"Are you seriously going to trust a vampire doctor?" Leah asked Kara, whispering loudly.
Kara just shrugged and sat down on the couch in the other room.
Alice skipped in with glasses full of ice water, setting each glass on the coffee table.

Carlisle arrived from the room.
"I'm pretty sure he's okay." He croaked weakly. "But I put a lot of energy into this. Don't worry, Leah, you can trust me." He smiled down at her. Leah looked frightened.
"I'm not betting he'll be conscious for another day or two..."
