I sat in my small room of the house. I hadn't seen Gen for a while, and I was starting to get a little bit worried. I opened the window to let in some fresh air, and looked up at the stars.

I crept slowly around the house.
"This is it," I whispered to Nicolette.
"This is his house." I listened to the young werewolf walking around the house.
"And I think he's alone." My lips curved into a devlish smile.
"Perfect."

"I feel like a stalker," She admitted, tracing lightly around his deviously smiling lips with her fingertips.

"What if he fights back?" She asked, trying to find a flaw in his plan. "What if he phases and tells his friends? What if they kill us? What if they kill you? What if they kill me?"

Brayden realized that his favorite jeans were covered in blackened grease and his hands were completely black with oil. Frowning at his lack of cleanliness, he rubbed the excess oil on his already messy jeans. He reached across the seat and turned the key, and the truck rumbled to life. Pleased with himself, he yanked out the key and grabbed his ballcap off the unsturdy table in the corner before wandering out of the garage and towards the house.

"Releasing the mechanic within you?" Kara asked, walking by Brayden's house with her surfboard under her arm.

"I'm surprised it didn't explode," He explained with a cocky half-smile. "I really suck with cars." He rubbed his thumb against the opposing palm of his hand and black oil rolled off.

Kara smiled, stabbing her surfboard into the sand. "What was wrong with it?" She asked, pulling her salty hair into a pony-tail.

"I don't know," He said stupidly. "It stalled last night and wouldn't come back up today, so I took off work and changed the oil. It started again, but I don't know if I fixed it." He paused, realizing how unclear he sounded. "Does that even make sense?"

Kara pursed her lips, looking to the side. "Nope."
She slid under the car, checking it. A few minutes later she slid back out and got in the car, turning the key in the ignition. The engine roared to life and she shut it off again. "Seems fine to me."

"I didn't know you worked with cars," Brayden said, genuinely surprised.

"I used to help my dad with the car." She explained, pulling her hair out of the elastic. "And I worked at a gas station a few years ago."

Brayden furrowed his eyebrows, still taken aback. He tried not to stare when her hair fell around her. Instead, he looked down at his hands, still rubbing at the black greasy goodness on his palm. "Well this is kind of embarrassing," He admitted. "Girls aren't supposed to know anything about cars. So it never leaves the garage," He realized once he said it, that a secret between him and anyone else was basically impossible

"Ugh. Girls can't know anything about cars?" Kara scoffed. "Boys are stupid..." She mumbled to herself, hiding a smile.
