Brayden dropped the stick off the cliff, a few sparks fluttered behind as it did so. He licked his upper lip and half-smiled. Ever since he was little he had been fascinated with fire. Even now, as an eighteen-year-old werewolf, he was still a little bit of a pyromaniac. He flicked his lighter and watched it for a while before tossing it off the cliff, just as he had done to the stick. Instead of just letting it fall, he crunched it in his palm and sprinkled the dust over the edge. The grin never leaving his face.

"Er, Hello." Kara said, in a confused tone. She had no idea what this boy had just sprinled down the cliff.

Brayden turned around, grinning at the girl, his eyes going down then up. "Hello," He finally said.

She stared wide-eyed at this boy. "Who are you? I don't think we've met."

"Brayden," He explained. "I know you," He stood up, looking her up and down again. "Werewolf."

"Yep." She clicked her tongue. "I'ma werewolf, too. How do you know me?"

"That's how I know you, kid," Brayden chuckled. "You're a werewolf, I've been in your head." He cracked a knuckle.

"That makes sense." She said, changing her stance and crossing her arms. "I guess I've learned to block out others' thoughts. I don't think I've heard any of yours."
Thank god...

"I didn't catch your name," Brayden said, wondering how long she'd been a member of the pack.

"Kara." She answered, shifting her weight, now standing with her left knee bent slightly.

"Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, Kara." He held out his hand, but withdrew it when he noticed her almost guarded stance.

"Same to you." She winked and walked away.

Ohh, Brayden thought, raising his eyebrows as she left.
