LA PUSH RESERVATION

Jacob shrugged and winced. "Ow."
"So, what's wrong with you anyways? What did Carlisle say?"
"I don't know... He got the venom out," Jake winced again at 'venom' "and he told me I'd be better soon. I guess a werewolf getting bit by a vampire messed me up or something..."

Brayden snorted, "Well duh. Everything involved with those blood suckers are messed up."

"That's true." Jacob agreed, chuckling.
"I don't think she was a Cullen..." Kara told them, randomly.
"She better not be," He growled. "If they broke the treaty, I'd kill 'em."
"But that's make you breaking the treaty, too." Kara corrected him, grinning.
"Shut up." He said, chuckling. He scooted over and I laid back on the bed next to him.
"How are you feeling?" Kara said, looking up to face him.
"Eh." Was his answer.

"Talk to Dr. Kara," Brayden said gingerly, still leaning against the dresser with a half-smile. "She knows everything" He nodded slowly, his eyes wide.

"I sure do." She nodded back. "What's your problem, Mr. Black?"
"I feel like shit." Jacob said.
"Hm."
"What's my diagnosis?" He asked, wrapping his arm around her and pulling her closer.
"One cookie. Nurse Brayden, please go get the patient a cookie," She giggled.

Brayden crossed his arms across his chest and said flamboyantly, "Slavery ended 200 years ago, hellooo." He stuck out his hip and snapped his fingers in a z formation.

"Cookie." She ordered again in an angry voice.
Jacob chuckled.

"You wanna go?" Brayden joked, holding out his arms like an angry gangster. "I refuse to get you a cookie!!"

"COOKIE!" She yelled, jumping off the bed and running to tackle him. She jumped on his back, covering his eyes with her hands.

He yelped, "Jacob!" He pleaded. "Get your injured ass off that god damn bed and help me get this thing off my back!"

Jacob laughed. "I would be able to if you would have just gotten me the fucking cookie!"

Brayden used his hands to remove hers from his face, locking them around his neck.
"To the kitchen!" Brayden said, surrendering and walking out of the room, Kara on his back piggyback style.

"To the cookie jar." She ordered, steering him over to the counter.
Jacob laughed from behind.

He stood on his tiptoes and reached into the cookie jar, easily grabbing three cookies. He put one in his mouth, passed one to his rider, and started back to the room. First, he licked the third cookie, whispering to Kara, "Don't tell Jake."

She giggled and kicked his side, steering him back into Jake's room.
"There's your cookie, Mr. Black. This should make you feel all better. Unless you'd prefer a lollipop..." Kara told him, holding back laughter as Jacob took the moist cookie.
"Nope. Cookie's are good." He ate the whole thing in one bite.
"Even if it's covered in Brayden saliva?" She said, snorting with laughter.

Brayden put his hands on hers, rubbing her wrists gently as Jacob wolfed it down. As Jacob found the news, he stuck out his tongue and waggled it around.
"You really shouldn't eat food that I've been told to provide," Brayden said.

She smiled as Brayden softly rubbed her wrists.
"Delicious, isn't it?" Kara asked as Jacob continued to eat the poisoned cookie.

"You are a brave soul," Brayden said to Jacob, with worried, confused eyes.

Jaocb grinned and smacked his hands together, wiping off the crumbs.
Kara slid off Brayden's back and nibbled her cookie.
"We'd better get going soon, Brayden." She told him, licking the chocolate off her fingertips.

Brayden scowled, disgusted. "How did you eat that?" He asked, "I don't think I would've eaten that cookie!"

"Yeah, soon," He agreed, nodding slowly.

Jacob sighed. "I already ate some of it. What's the difference?"
"I guess..." Kara said. "It's still gross." She broke off half of her cookie and sat on the empty patch on the bed. "Here." She gave her clean half to him and he popped it in his mouth.

Brayden playfully licked his fingers, looking at Kara out of the corner of his eyes. He'd finished his in practically two bites. He rubbed his hands together and again leaned against the dresser.
"Get your gimpy ass up and well soon, chief," Brayden noted to Jacob. "There's a couple stray leeches floating around. I smell them everywhere. It's about time for an ambush."

Kara smiled and tousled Jake's hair. "Just get better soon." She told him. She gave Jacob a quick hug and got up to leave. "Let's go, buddy." She yanked on Brayden's collar on her way out.
"See you, Kara." Jacob called after her, smiling.

"Hey now," Brayden recoiled, tugging at her wrist with his hand. "That's not very nice." He winked slyly as they got out of the house. "Are we just walking back? Or do you want me to hotwire Jacob's car?"
